Volaris Fares

What does the Clean Base Fare include?

On domestic and international flights, the Clean Base Fare includes 2 Cabin bags onboard that must not weigh over 22 lbs. in total and measure a maximum of 22.4 x 15.7 x 12.9 inches each.

 

What does the Regular Fare include?

On domestic flights, the Regular Fare includes:

· 2 Cabin bags on board that must not weigh over 22 lbs. in total and measure a maximum of 22.4 x 15.7 x 12.9 inches each.

· 1 Checked bag of up to 55 lbs. and 62 total inches.

 

What does the Fare + Baggage include?

On international flights, the Fare + Baggage includes:

· 2 Cabin bags on board that must not weigh over 22 lbs. in total and measure a maximum of 22.4 x 15.7 x 12.9 inches each.

· 1 Checked bag of up to 55 lbs. and 62 total inches.

Checked Baggage

With how much time of anticipation do I have to arrive at the airport to check my baggage? 

For domestic flights, you must arrive 2 hours before your flight’s departure. For international flights, arrive 3 hours before your flight’s departure. To avoid long queues and save time at the airport, we suggest you using our Home-Printed Bag Tag, and doing either a Web Check-in or a Mobile Check-in.

 

What is the limit amount of bags I can take with me?

There is a limit of 5 bags per person on all Volaris routes. For more information on how you can add them, please visit Checked Baggage and Oversized and Excess Baggage.

 

What kind of perishable food can I transport and how must I pack it?

You can transport items such as fruits, vegetables, meat, fish and seafood, as long as it complies with the health requirements of your destination. They must be covered in plastic wrap and packed in resistant containers. For more information, please visit Checked Baggage.

 

Onboard Cabin Baggage

What can I take as Onboard Cabin Baggage?

Now, an all our flights, domestic or international, you may take:

· 2 cabin bags on board that must not weigh over 22 lbs. in total, and measure a maximum of 22.4 x 15.7 x 12.9 inches each. You may take: handbag, backpack, portfolio, laptop, etc.

This Baggage Policy applies starting on November 1st 2017

 

What benefits do I get when adding extra weight to my carry-on? 

When adding extra weight to your carry-on during your booking process or at our My Trips section, you will get the following benefits:

- Priority Boarding

- Priority to take your baggage on board in the cabin compartments (subject to availability)

- An additional 22 lbs. (10 kg) to take on board, divided among two pieces of carry-on baggage (44 lbs. in total)

 

Can I take liquids or food in my Onboard Cabin Baggage?

You can take bottled liquids that don’t exceed 3.4 oz. by volume or 3.2 oz. by weight, placed in a closed, re-sealable, transparent plastic bag. If you wish to transport food in your cabin baggage, it must be from the Duty Free shops at the airport. For more information, visit Cabin Baggage.

 

Forbidden and Restricted Baggage

What is the amount of liquids and gels allowed on board?

Liquids, gels and aerosols must be packed in containers no larger than 3.4 oz. by volume or 3.2 oz. by weight, placed in a closed, re-sealable, transparent plastic bag.

 

Can I take a hoverboard on a Volaris flight?

Due to official regulations, items that use lithium batteries, such as hoverboards, are not allowed on board since they imply a great overheating risk.

 

Can I take a fire weapon to an international destination?

Due to official regulations, fire weapons are not allowed on international destinations.

 

Oversize and Overweight Baggage

What is the extra charge for overweight baggage? 

This fee varies depending on the route. If you need to take more baggage than the one included in your ticket, we suggest you to add it before your flight’s departure on Add Extras. For an approximate cost of this service, visit Additional Services Fees.

 

Checked Baggage Delivery

My baggage didn’t arrive in the same flight. How can I reclaim its delivery?

Before leaving the arrival hall, notify any baggage damage or loss to our airport staff. They will file a Baggage Irregularity report and explain to you the steps you need to take next. To follow your baggage delivery, please call 01 55 1102 8000.

Baggage Guarantee

How much time do I have to reclaim my Baggage Guarantee? 

You must notify your flight’s delay to our airport staff before leaving the arrival hall. Once you receive your Electronic Credit, you can use it to purchase a ticket and travel within the following 60 days.

 

Does the Baggage Guarantee apply per person or per reservation?

This guarantee is for one incident per customer. This means that if two bags of the same customer are delayed, only one Baggage Guarantee will be granted.
